Workshop on Sustainability for the Leadership El Paso program

Alexandra was invited to present to the 48th Leadership El Paso Cohort by the El Paso Chamber of Commerce on sustainability. Being a diverse cohort, the workshop aimed to teach how everyone can be a sustainability leader, regardless of title and sector. During the workshop, participants were given 3 climate scenarios of which to create a climate action plan that bridged their expertise and sectors.

Speaker at Conference of the Parties (COP16) in Riyadh

Alexandra was invited to speak by Aeon Collective at COP16 Riyadh on the integration of ancestral wisdom in the climate space in the People’s Pavilion. During the panel, she emphasized the importance of returning to indigenous practices to reach sustainability goals and the importance of building sovereign community systems.

Speaker at Conference of the Parties (COP29) on Energy Decarbonization

Alexandra was invited to speak by the UNFCCC Climate Ambassadors at COP29 Azerbaijan on energy decarbonization. During her time at Carbon Direct, she spearheaded environmental & climate justice strategy within high quality carbon projects. As the US and other developed countries move towards the the energy transition, it’s vital that critical mineral supply chains do not perpetuate extraction and degradation of the Global South.

Peek Counsel is honored to have been invited to speak to 4th-8th graders from Socorro Independent School District on career opportunities. Our Founder, Alexandra, graduated from Socorro High School back in 2011.

Panelist for the Sustainable Justice HBCU Fellowship

Alexandra from Peek Counsel was honored to be a part of an environmental justice panel for Sustain Our Future Foundation’s Sustainable Justice HBCU Fellows! Seven students from Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) across the country were selected for a paid internship with an environmental justice non-profit.
